<HTML>Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
just talked to Admiral Topp about this subject on the phone. He told me that such a Kriegsberichterstatter (KBE) was send to him by the propaganda-company and he had to make the best of it, on one hand trying to meat the demands of propaganda on the other always giving the safety of his boat absolute priority. The KBE he had on his boat, u552, two or three times, as far as he remembers, was a reasonable man and respective arrangements were made, as can be seen even today on some of the old newswheels of his patrols, which I just happened to have a chance to watch courtesy to the owner of info@u617.de, a site I highly recommend to visit.
It is very very hot in Germany, 100f.
You all have a nice day and best regards
