  12:43 - Created a page on U-boat losses by cause. This is a a very interesting read.

  Created a page called U-boats missing in Action listing all 57 boats we believe to have unknown fates.

  Updated the Successes against Aircraft page. Now found the aircraft and date for U-73's claim. Also did some slight arrangements so that the data would be easier to read.

  01:24 - Been putting an immense work into the Database Project these last days. Today I installed all the fates into the system and that's one less puzzle to fit.

  Perhaps this next weekend we can start generating HTML pages from the system, that will only be a beta run but we'll see if things are on track or not.

  17:27 - Added a new and very interesting article about the Fight Back order of 1943. This meant that U-boats were instructed to stay surfaced and fight the attacking aircraft.

  Totally rewrote the Successes against Aircraft page. Now it lists 128 aircraft shot down or otherwise lost to U-boats during the war.

  Updated the profile page for U-758

  Udated the page on the US escort carrier USS Bogue

  Added a review for the The Annals of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy - Class of '42 Project CD-ROM. This is a very recommended addition to the untold stories of the Merchant Marines during the war.

  Fixed a small layout bug on the Puerto Rico photos page.

  17:27 - Added 2 new convoy battles, those are for SC-100 and HX-90.

  17:27 - Improved the Flotilla emblem page. Make the former Emblems of the Week in that category available for selection. Just slide your mouse over the emblems, many can be clicked on.

  Added a page showing 5 excellent photographs taken only 1 week ago in Puerto Rico showing the 2 post-war German Bundesmarine submarines on extended training patrol in the western hemisphere.

  Added a great new article on the German torpedo crisis early in the war. It covers the missed chances among other things.

  Added a report on U-190's operational career, both in German and Canadian hands courtesy of the Canadian War Museum.

  Updated and improved the Tips pages.

  01:24 - I added 5 new emblems to the Emblem of the Week listing. I have to try and save some time and make a few of them at a time, although it makes the title "Emblem of the week" rather odd I realise :) However the front page will always link to the current one.

  Added Admiral Max Horton, commander of Western Approaches, to the Allied personnel listing.

  Created an archive page for What's new during March 1999.
