Yes it does seem a little odd and i am not sure what to think.
But what reason would there be to lie? perhaps just to fancy up his story a little is the only reason i can think of.
did any of the other crew members of U 977 ever come forward with their own comment on the claims made by Shaeffer?
this is bugging me and I cant put it to rest nor find any info that helps so any input from the experts appreciated.
