One of the most interesting periods of WW.II was during the closing months and after the German surrender. Yet so little has been researched by historians about what happened after the surrender? I do not purport to know everything, but as an historian myself and having researched through hundreds of contemporary reports, witness statements etc. The conclusion I come to is that you cannot just dismiss this as "rubbish" and file it in the bin.
As an historian I have learned to keep an open mind about the subject that I am researching, witnessess are an important part of any research especially during the period we are studying, where so many people are still around (albeit dwindling numbers as the years take their tole). I do not intirely agree with the findings on some of the sites that you mention Paul, but again until you can prove otherwise? Why should they be dismissed as total fantasy and consigned to the bin?
I do not know Carlos personally or have anything to do with his research. But having researched for 5 years on my book "Bury the Wolves Deep" which is based on Operation Deadlight and of what happened to the last remaining U-boats I can confirm here that my findings will change the whereabouts and dates of some of the boats, locations etc. And just to dispel rumours they do not mention Black boats in Argentine Waters. All my research is based on official naval documents of the time and updated to current research findings.
You will just have to wait and see what they are!
