Hi Kurt,
As mentioned before elsewhere, without knowledge of even the first generation of the Fido, no countermeasures can be developed. If the Germans would have had the operational details of this weapon (espionage or torture of a downed flier etc), I can think of at least one tactic letting the type 21 survive without draining the batts:
If launch detected, immediate max. power dive to beyond 400 feet. Fido would have imploded, if it could follow. Crawl away at silent speed, and let the Avengers circle until they run out of gas. Cheers, RB
